What we look for and How we approach each Tree

  • Root Flare Visibility

The root flare is where the trunk begins to spread into the roots at the base. If its buried under soil, mulch or rocks, it can cause girdling, decay or even slow tree death. We always check this first - its the foundation of a healthy tree.

  • Canopy Symmetry & Density

An uneven or thinning canopy could signal internal issues. Healthy trees should grow with a well-shaped, dense crown. When we see one side struggling or lots of bare spots, it may point to root issues, pests, or poor pruning practices.

  • Structural Integrity

We inspect how the branches connect to the trunk. Weak attachments, co-dominant stems, or signs of splitting can pose major safety hazards. We recommend corrective pruning or support systems to prevent future failure.

  • Leaf Condition & Color

Leaves should be vibrant and seasonally appropriate. Discoloration, curling, or premature leaf drop are all signs of stress. These symptoms can stem from drought, root issues, soil problems, or disease - so we dig deeper to find the root cause.

We had Keith and his team come out to remove a diseased tree and some complicated branch removal. They were knowledgeable, timely and very customer friendly. Plus they hauled all the debris away and kept us updated the whole time. Very happy with their service!!

I had a bunch of branches that I cut from my spruce tree and some lilacs that I removed and Keith came out and helped get them chipped up and took them away for me. Saved me from having to make several trips to the dump. I would highly recommend him to do the work your looking to get done. I know I will be calling him back to do a few more things to my trees. Was very professional and cleaned up the branches afterwards that fell on the ground and even blew the dust back into the yard.
